I started Flow Therapy Services after realizing that the work I wanted to do didn't fit in to the current structure of occupational therapy clinics. My focus is on transformative change, driven by connection and lovingkindness.
The name comes from two aspects that inform this occupational therapy practice. The first is the theory of Flow from a philosopher named Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi (pronounced MEE-hy CHEEK-sent-mee-HAH-yee) Flow is the the state when one is enjoying an activity to the extent they lose track of time. The second aspect comes from an occupational therapy theory, the Kawa Model. This theory uses the imagery of a river to discuss how to increase wellbeing in clients.
I offer individual adult coaching, family/parent coaching for children with disabilities, and pediatric outpatient therapy. I am specialized in treating and coaching on sensory processing, early childhood trauma, neurodivergence, and parent-child attachment. The diagnoses that are often tied to these specialties include autism, PDA neurotype, ADHD, C-PTSD. I also have experience working with children who have experienced toxic stress/trauma.
